About
HEATHER
I was born knowing how to see people.
Really see them.
As a baby, my mother said people would tell her I made them nervous because they felt like I could see everything.
They were right.
I was a soul seer before I had words for it.
For nearly three decades, I’ve been learning languages for something I’ve always instinctively known how to do.
- I photographed the musicians of Nashville,
- worked in fashion photography in Paris and New York,
- and even spent two years as a photographer on a presidential campaign.
But some of my most important work was never seen in the public eye.
I have traveled the world in sacred ceremony, trained as a coach, spent years in circles, retreats and spiritual teachings, and lived for six years in Bali.
I’ve witnessed people in the beautiful moments, the devastating ones, and the ones where the performance finally falls away.
I have seen it all.
And across all of these journeys, I have found that it always comes down to one thing:
ESSENCE.
We are all trying to unearth our own unique puzzle piece in this world.
The thing that is unmistakably ours.
The part that was there before we learned who we were supposed to be.
It has always been my gift to help people find it.
And one of the things I’ve discovered is that adornment can be one of the fastest paths back to essence.
There is something that happens when you put on something that is truly aligned.
It’s like a lightning bolt of remembering.
You look in the mirror and suddenly, there you are.
And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
This is what has always fascinated me about clothing, and what became the heart of Shloaka.
But essence isn’t only personal.
It matters in our work, too.
The people who are most aligned with what we do can feel when something doesn’t quite ring true.
Even a morsel of untruth, a photograph, a message, a way of presenting ourselves that isn’t really us, can register like a red flag:
Something doesn’t feel quite right.
And the opposite is true, too.
When who you are and what the world sees finally match, people can feel that.
This is why so much of my work is about creating tools of essence: through adornment, photography, visibility and the way we present ourselves to the world.
Because I want our spiritual community to thrive financially.
I want extraordinary people doing meaningful work to connect with the people who are looking for exactly what they carry, with greater ease.
Not by becoming better marketers.
By becoming more recognizable as themselves.
Because ultimately, my work has always been the same.
I see you.
Not the version you think you need to be.
The luminous truth of who you actually are.
And I create the conditions for you to see her, too.
This is sacred work. This is magic.
Everything I create is a mirror, an activation, an invitation to stand in your magnitude without apology.
To see yourself.
And then to let yourself be seen.
